Library Book Bag: More Fun With Nature

Library Book Bag: More Fun With Nature

More Fun With Nature is such a neat book. It was one I just happened to walk past at the library this week and couldn't resist checking it out to browse the pages. It is a take-along guide for kids. It helps you find out stuff about birds, plants, fossils, arrowheads, rocks, and much more. It also has fun little experiments and activities you can do with your kids at the end of each section. This book is one that I will be checking out again come spring time because that is when I will be doing a nature segment for my kiddos. I can't wait to explore the things in this book with Miss. Priss and Bubba. I just thought I should share this book in case anyone is wanting to do some outdoor exploring with your kids. I think kids form preschool- jr. high would find this book interesting. There is so much you can do with it. Enjoy!

Jiffy Cornbread Casserole

Today was one of those days where you just want to find a cozy spot in the house and cuddle up with a warm blanket. The temperature outside was in the 60's, which was so very welcomed. The wind outside was howling, which mad it even more cozy being behind the walls of our home. Hearing my children giggle as we snuggle up and watch a movie was such a simple pleasure of my day today. We finished off our night with a yummy dinner of chili, Jiffy Cornbread casserole, and string bean casserole. Such warm comfort foods that finished this perfect day off just right. I am thankful for the change in weather. For this fall season where we get to see the leaves change and where we get to welcome in the new season.

Here is the recipe for Jiffy Corn Bread Casserole. It is super yummy and will be a great side dish this winter :)

1 box of Jiffy Corn Bread mix
1 cup of sour cream
1 can of whole kernel corn
1 can of cream corn
2 eggs beaten
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)

shredded cheese just for sprinkling on top

Preheat oven to 350*
Drain the can of  whole kernel corn
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl
Pour mix into a 1.5 qt  greased casserole dish
Bake for 20 minutes
Sprinkle with cheese
and then bake for another 10 minutes

Ghost-Mallow Cookie Pudding

Ghost-Mallow Cookie Pudding - Blissful and Domestic: Creating Beautiful on Less

This is a simple, but oh so yummy treat! The kiddos gobbled this up when we had it after our Family Home Evening tonight.

What you will need:
2 boxes of Vanilla Pudding (chocolate would work too)
1 package of Oreo cookies
1 bag of marshmallow ghosts (these marshmallows are easy to find now around Halloween)

** You can also use gummy worms, which would be a fun buggy treat for the littles **
Make the pudding according to the package. Store in a serving platter and let sit in the fridge for about 15 minutes to set. I put mine in a glass serving bowl. It is a layered dessert so the glass bowl just makes it look neat. While the Pudding is setting dump your Oreos into a zip lock bag and begin crushing them. You would also put them in a bowl and use a potato masher but the bags is less cleanup. Then layer those onto of the pudding and top with marshmallow ghosts.

Blissful and Domestic - Psalms 37:4

Blissful and Domestic - Creating a Beautiful Life on Less

Once upon a time there was a girl. A girl who dreamed of the day when she would have a family of her own. A place to call home, where she could create a blissful place for her family to live and grow. This girl is me. Having a family and making a home has always been my dream. I enjoy being a mother and wife. Everyday I get to do this is a blessing that I am thankful for. This past year I have had another dream. I have inwardly wanted to have a different purpose with my blog. I have wanted to create a place where I could share my ideas: dealing with crafts, home schooling, etc. I've wanted to create a place where I could express myself and maybe even uplift others at the same time. I also wanted a place where I could share my testimony and my experiences, as I find the Joy in the Journey back to my Heavenly Father. I wanted to be able to share ideas and maybe even encourage other moms along the way. That has been my dream.

So here I am ready to write.... Ready to put my dream into action...Ready to put the jumble of thoughts and ideas in my head into words on a page. I am excited to share and begin this new adventure with you. I pray that God will guide me and allow me to glorify him as I enjoy the simple, blissful things in life.
