Girl's Night Out

Girl's Night Out

Last week we had a Girls Night out. Holly, Andrea, Rena, and myself all went to see New Moon (again I know, but Andrea hadn't seen it yet) Oh man was it worth seeing again, but of course the giggling and story telling between us all was really the most memorable part. I love that fact that by marrying my hubby I have been blessed with an awesome motherinlaw and awesome sisterinlaws who truly are some of my best friends. I love you girls and can't wait for our next girls Night out!

Christmas Cookies

Christmas Cookies

So mine do not look like Wendi's in the slightest. Mine are definitely lacking greatly in the beauty department, but not to toot my own horn, in the taste department I think they're holding their own. These cookies turned out so yummy! I definitely reccomend them to anyone looking for some simple and yummy cookie's to make this Christmas week.
Here's the recipe I got from Wendi's blog.

Preheat oven to 350*
Cream 1 cup butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until smooth. Add remaining ingredients. 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 cup chopped pecans. Roll into balls about the size of a small walnut. Bake for 12 15 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.

I actually didn't have pecans so I used walnuts and they came out just as delicious. Happy Baking!

A Christmas Prayer

Loving Father, help us to remember the birth
of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and the worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate and
open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift and
good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing
which Christ brings, and teach us to
be merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy
to be Thy children, and the Christmas evening
bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen!

Holiday Pancakes

Holiday Pancakes

 Holiday Pancakes

Well we had to kick off winter break right and make some yummy holiday pancakes. I had my trusty sidekick who always helps me in the kitchen and my box of Bisquick. What could go wrong:)

The Gift of Lights

The Gift of Lights was such a fun drive for the kids. You get to drive through a local park here that was been decorated with hundreds and hundreds of lights. My mom and Grandma were able to join in the fun. We made some popcorn snack bags for everyone to munch on as we drove through.

Then Dinner out to end a fun evening :>

Also if you plan to go to the Gift of Lights You can get $2.00 off you admission if you bring a bag of used clothes.

Tis the Season...

For a Christmas Party!

We had a fun party for our littles this past Monday over at my sisterinlaws house. Thank you so much Holly for opening your home to all of the craziness that encompasses all our family and friends. It was to say the least crazy, but oh man did the kids have fun. Holly and I both baked an insane amount of cookies and everyone brought sprinkles and icing to share. We had all the kids decorate Christmas cookies. Our original plan was for each kid to get to bring a plate of cookies home, but those cookies didn't last long once they were decorated :> Holly then planned some cute games for the kids. They did the Reindeer Pokey and played Christmas musical chairs, which the kids absolutely loved.

Fun Activities With Your Kiddos

If you are looking for some cute, fun things to do with your kiddos check out this site. Oh my heck I want to do it all. They all are simple, fun ideas I know my littles would absolutely enjoy. Just thought I would share :>

Preschool This and That

I used these for the letter L this month and
we practiced finishing colored patterns
I got the template for these from here.

The magnet monkeys are also something we use to practice our ABC's. Miss Priss loves to play and sing with them. I got their template here.

Also we like to use shaving cream to help us with writing our letters. You spray some on the table and then let the kids get their hands messy, while they write letters in the shaving cream. Miss Priss and bubba love doing this and always have a good time. A bonus is then it cleans your table and leaves it smelling so nice and clean.

** I have a video of Miss Priss singing with the monkeys, but have no idea how to upload onto blogger. I no longer have an option for that when I go to upload pictures. Any help would be great :>

Craft Idea

This is on my to do list for the new year. How cute is this skirt?

FHE: Pajama Movie Night

For Family Home Evening this week we went over to my brother and sisterinlaws house for a Pajama Movie Night. Everyone wore their most comfy pj's and we brought pillows and blankets for the kids to make sure everyone was cozy. My sisterinlaw Andrea made yummy stew, which I must try out because it was perfect to add to the cozy feel of our family night. We then watched Polar Express and finished it off with some yummy deserts of brownie bread by Joan and a Cookies n' Cream Brownie desert by me. It was such a fun night getting together and kicking off the beginning of Christmas vacation for the kids. I think we will need to make this a new tradition. Thank you Andrea and Shane for opening your home to all of us

After the movie was over the My Hubby and his brothers invented this game of tossing the kids. They loved it and couldn't get enough. Those boys always think of something to entertain the kids :>

Watch For Falling Leaves...

and of course a few leaf fights

When we took pictures last week a leaf fight broke out and turned out to not only be so much fun, but create some wonderful pictures as well. Everyone got in on the fun, while Holly and I stood back to take pictures of the kids trying to attack their dad's with leafs. I love these moments where laughter fills the air and you can see the joy on your little children's faces. What a blessing their joy brings each day.
