Valentine Sign Repurpose Project

As promised I wanted to share some of the birthday presents I made this month. My first project I am going to share is a Valentine Door sign that I made for my Grandma. You originally saw it here. This was a simple project that literally cost me less than $5.  I took a few pictures of the before and after, but failed to take any of the process. I figured it was pretty self explanatory and wouldn't requiring to many pictures. Anyway here is what I did.

I re-used a board that has been sitting in the closet since we moved into our apartment. It was originally a sign to hang up my littles artwork, but we have very little wall space and they have to many masterpieces for one clip to hold. I unscrewed the clips and scraped off the vinyl lettering. I left the paint as is, since I planed on decoupaging over it.

I raided my scrapbook paper stash and came up with a few papers in red and floral. Perfect for a Valentine sign. I also went through my sewing trims and took out some lace and a few buttons.
I modge podged the paper on and then laid out the rest of my appliqu├ęs. Once my items were in place, and were to my satisfaction, I hot glued them. This is how I left it for a few days. I wasn't really loving it. I felt like it was missing something. I then found what it was missing during a trip to Joann's. They had Valentine decor on sale 50% off. I purchase the wooden heart for I think $1.99. I hot glued it onto the sign, put a wall hanger on the back, and voila, a Valentine door sign for my Grammy  :>

Total cost for the project was $1.99. Everything else I reused or already had on hand.

Have a Blessed Day!
