Here is a quick wrap-up of who else we talked about this month. I love rookie readers. Our local library had a huge selection of biographies to choose from. These are the ones I went with.
This one I found online and then requested it through my library.
We talked about all of these marvellous people and colored a picture of each person. I found all the coloring pages by just googling each persons name. I plan to leave up our coloring pages as a way to quickly refer back to the people we have learned about in history this year. I am so thankful for the month of February and the fact that I was able to learn a little more about some of the amazing African Americans who took a stand and made a change. What an inspiration they are to me and my children. I hope you took the time to honor those in our past who changed our country for the better.
