Yellow Spring Worthy Cardigan

I have a new re-purposing project to share with you today. My favorite type of clothing piece is a cardi. I mean they go with everything and really complete an outfit. Well having said that, I don't have a whole lot of selection when it comes to my cardigans. I happen to have a lot in the black family. I really want to get some new fun colors, being that it is spring and all. Well I decided to go shopping in my closet. I found this cheerful yellow 3/4 length shirt, I never wear. This became my new project. Here is what I did to turn it into the cardigan you see now.

1) I cut down the middle of the front of the shirt.

2) I then hemmed the sides I had just cut.

3) I had this white flower iron-on applique in my sewing stash. I ironed it on and I was done.

* After I washed this I did have to go back in and tack done a few edges of the applique. I would suggest doing this initially, so you won't have to go back and mend it.

Anyways that is how I made my new spring worthy cardigan (minus the buttons of course).

Have a Blessed Day!
