DIY Chalkboard Wall & Laundry Room Reveal

Happy Monday Lovelies! Well it was quite a busy weekend. As always for Mondays I am going through my inbox again. I pretty much neglect it over the weekend, those littles of mine want my full attention, so come Monday it is full and ready for me to work through it. So be ready I am replying to e-mails this morning:) I am also working on a fun project, which was requested by many of you over the past week or so. I am working on my staple list and a 90 day menu plan. Yep I said 90 days. I am very excited to share it with you, but it still needs to make it from my notebook to the computer. Hopefully this week. Keep your fingers crossed:) I also did some finishing up this weekend. I finally finished a fun section of my home. It has become a serious favorite of my littles and I am excited to share it with you all today.

I finally finished my laundry room, well almost. I have a few more vinyl touches to add, but I am too excited and wanted to share with you all my hard work. I am pretty proud because I painted this area all by myself. It is the same color as the kitchen. Also with the paint and all the little touches it was completely paid through blogging and that makes this blogging mommy beyond excited!

Our laundry room is right off of our kitchen. Our home has a very open floor plan, which I love. The only thing though is my laundry room is really just an area. There is no door to it, so I can't hide any craziness in there. Because of that I kept the same colors, which I have everywhere else in my kitchen and living room. My colors are red, sage green, black, and white. Classic and gorgeous. Ready to see the pictures now?

I painted all the walls green, except one. I have a HUGE love for chalkboard paint. It boarders on obsession, but I can't help it! I have always known I wanted a full on chalkboard wall and I am beyond happy! My kids love writing and creating on this fun wall. I can fold laundry and they can entertain me with all of their masterpieces. I also love displaying my littles artwork. I would rather have art by them, then any other artist in the world. When I look around my house, it makes this mommy's heart grow with love seeing all their doodles and crafts around our home. I think it just makes our home 100 times more cozy and inviting. Because of this, I added a clothesline for artwork above our chalkboard. I just used some old ribbon and some small binder clips.

I also added a few other touches to the laundry side of this area. I think when things are cute, I am seriously more likely to keep it tidy. I love things to look pretty and having pretty, homemade things makes me so happy. I added vinyl and rosettes to an old plate and used some fake flowers, I had in my stash. The cup they are in is an old bathroom tumbler. We weren't using it, so I re-purposed it.

I also added vinyl to some clothes hanger to help hang my littles artwork.
The love that they each have their own personal hanger.

So there you have it. My simple Laundry area. It is warm and cozy, which is a must when decorating my home. I never want someone to come in and feel like they are not instantly welcomed. I want an inviting, cozy home and that is what I strive for each day. I love making our house a homemade home. It is so much fun!! Oh and Over at Happy Hour Projects I am giving away one of my Every Child is An Artist Vinyl Quotes. Adrianne is having a Christmas in July giveaway and I am excited to be apart of the fun. 2. i luv it! and i agree - our kiddos artwork is more precious than any picasso out there. cor made me a pony bead bracelet from preschool one year and i wear it almost everyday, take anything BUT that! i've been thinking about doing the same with the ribbon and clips. i found a sign with clamps at homegoods that says "look at what i made" but it only has three spots and i need more (haha). so i was thinking of doing the line but wasnt sure what to use to hold the papers, thanks! going to do that tonight, along with my vinyl ;D

  3. I love your sentiment that you strive for a cozy home where people feel welcomed. I think that is lovely and what we should all strive for rather than the most expensive furniture pieces or something that makes people feel like they should be "careful" or not bring their kids when they stop by.

    Enjoying your blog :)

  4. Your laundry room came out beautifully. And you know I smiled when I saw the clip holding "Libby's artwork." And guess what? I met another Libby last week in Hallmark. A man called her name and I answered. LOL
