Meal Planning & Shopping List: Week #2

Happy Sunday Morning All! I was so excited to hear that many of you had downloaded last weeks Staple List, Meal Plan, and Shopping List. Seriously makes my day knowing you are able to use them and help your families. I hope your weeks went smoother, knowing dinner was all planned out. Since many of you asked for me to keep them coming, I am back today with a new meal plan. New recipes and new yummy dinners for your cute families this week. Oh and FYI....You can expect weekly meal plans and shopping list every Sunday morning.
I am going to keep this as a reoccurring thing, since so many have found them useful.

Before I get into this week's menu plan, I just want to remind you of something real quick. I do shop for the month, but I break down my meals into a weekly plan. I have a master list for the month that I pull meals from. When you look at the grocery lists, which I include in each Menu Planning post, always shop your pantry first. Cross the stuff off the list that you already have on hand. Once you have done that, you will be ready to go grocery shopping.

All right I have included this weeks menu plan here in the post, with links, and then again in a printable format. I have included 6 days of meals, with Sunday being a day for leftovers. On Sundays, when we come home from church, everything leftover from the week is fair game. I heat up our meals and we all enjoy our favorites from the past week. Sometimes I have to add some extra veggies, yogurt, or fruit to round out our leftovers night. I also added two planned desserts for each week. We love our sweets and since we don't buy them at the store, I try to get a little baking in as well. The items for my desserts I usually have on hand in my pantry. I will include them on the shopping list as well.

Most meal recipes do not include a side dish, unless otherwise linked and noted 
I am leaving that one up to you :) I also serve all my meals with a vegetable or fruit.

Weekly Menu Plan #2

Monday - Tuna Patties  {on toasted buns} and Veggies

Tuesday- Crockpot Salsa Chicken over white rice 


Wednesday- BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with Smashed Potatoes

Thursday- Spaghetti Night with Homemade Sauce

Friday- Pepper Steak Turkey Patties with Rice and Veggies

Saturday- Hawaiian Deli Ham Sandwiches with fruit

  3. I got my DH to read your blog and he is on board with the planned grocery shopping! We are spending $800-$1000 a month on food alone, which I discovered thanks to the pie charts at mint :( so we sat down today and planned our meals and will go with list and coupons in hand!!

  4. oh i can't wait to try some of these! i have a question - i know it's kinda elementary but i wanted to get some thots on it. do u serve two sides with every meals? if so what kind of things do u pair togather? i always seem to have almost a whole side left over at each meal. but my mom always served a main dish and two sides so i don't know if its really necessary to serve two sides.

    1. I usually do a veggie/fruit and some type of potato, pasta of some sorts side dish. If we are having rolls with dinner then we are being fancy:> This fills my family, since we try not to have a lot of snacks after dinner. I think if your family is not eating the side dish then maybe they don't need so much food.... or you can save the left overs for other meals. I do that too! :>

  13. Your meal plans are the best across the internet - I know, I've been searching for a long time. They are sensible REALISTICALLY cheap meals that my kids actually likes to eat, and they actually stretch my resources over a period of a couple of weeks. Other sites will call their meal plans "frugal", but after shopping for all of the items needed, it is WAY over their "proclaimed" budget. Your plans have brought our food bill down from $1000 per month to $400 per month for a family of 6. Thank you SO much, and please keep em' coming.
