This recipe features crispy bacon and creamy avocado on toasted bread, creating a delicious and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 2 avocados, peeled, pitted, and mashed
  • 4 slices of whole wheat bread
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Place the bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-15 minutes or until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the mashed avocados, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix until well combined.

  4. Toast the slices of whole wheat bread in a toaster or under the broiler until golden brown.

  5. Spread a generous amount of the avocado mixture onto each slice of toasted bread.

  6. Break the crispy bacon slices in half and place them on top of the avocado mixture.

  7. Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the bacon.

  8. Serve the crispy bacon & avocado toasts immediately.
