{Sunny Summer Fun Banner}

Hello Lovelies! So let me just say here in this desert of mine I live in (Vegas) it is pretty dang humid. Yesterday I literally felt like melting. I know I am being overly dramatic, but I hate being hot. Usually our house is pretty cool. We have a swamp cooler and it works great. ....except when it is going to rain. Too much moisture in the air means a humid home. Yuck! I have no clue how all you lovelies in the south do it.. You are beyond heroes today my friends. Heroes I tell you. So with me sweating it up, in my humid home, I had to think of something fun to do with those littles. We decided our home was in need of some summer cheer. We made a summer banner for our reading area. This was one of the ideas I had planned to do during our Summer Camp at Home . I think it turned out pretty well. Want to make one with your littles today?
Photobucket

Our first themed week for Summer Camp was Friendship. I always associate Friendship and suns together.  This is a simple craft, where your littles can do all the work. It isn't about it looking perfect, but about them being able to create something to add a little summer fun to your home.

Here is What you Need:

6 paper plates
yellow craft paint
paint brushes
ribbon
white computer paper
black marker

Photobucket

Paint all 6 plates yellow. When the paint is still wet, have your littles sprinkle some glitter over the plates. We did this over the sink, so it was an easy cleanup.

Photobucket

Let your plates dry

Photobucket

Write out the letters in "summer" on your white paper.
I wrote these out, but you could totally have your little ones do it.
Glue the letters on the plates.

Photobucket

Staple your plates to your ribbon and find a fun place to hang it.

Photobucket

Doesn't it look just darling in our reading corner? I know it makes my littles happy knowing they created it all by themselves. I love looking around my home and seeing their artwork displayed. It makes this Mama's heart extra happy. You can check out our clothesline where we display more of my littles artwork. Too cute right?

Well have an awesome day lovelies and I am keeping my fingers crossed on getting you that staples list this week. It is all written out, now to just proof read and get it LIVE. Have a fabulous Tuesday and stay cool.

Oh and don't forget the FASHIONABLE FABRICS Giveaway.
You have 2 more days to enter to win a $35 gift certificate.

Stop n' Go Cookie Pops

 photo 20minutesicon_zps20f83aad.png
Photobucket

Hi there! My little Miss and I have a fun recipe to share with you. My Miss Priss is loving the different sections our library has to over the littles. From arts and crafts, animals, gardening, to recipes, she is all over it. Recently we got the book Snack Attack. She instantly started marking pages that she wanted me too look at it. It was too dang cute! One of the recipes she said we had to try were these Stop n' Go Cookies. They turned out to be pretty darn delicious. Miss Priss said they were definitely "blog worthy". Her words not mine:)

So how about it? Want to make some delicious fun with your littles today?
 Let me tell you how....

Here's What You Need:

 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of coca powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter, softened *
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Red, yellow, and green M and M's

* I used margarine in place of butter

Here is what you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350'.

2. Softened butter on the stove or in the microwave. Put in a big mixing bowl (I used my kitchen aide). Add the sugar and mix until combined. Next add vanilla and the egg. Mix.

3. Next add all of your dry ingredients to your bowl and mix well.

4. Now shape each cookie on a baking sheet. I used a spoon, sprayed with cooking spray. This made it a whole lot easier. Next add your Popsicle sticks. Push them in halfway. Add your M and M's.

5. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are firm. Use a pancake turner to remove from pan and let cool. They need to cool completely before they can be held by the stick.

6. Once cooled, share with your littles and enjoy!

Easy Peasy right and super simple to make with your littles!?
Let me know if you try these. I would love to hear how they turned out for you.

Happy Baking Lovelies!

You could also pair these up with a fantastic transportation learning unit. Here are some fun books we loved to read when doing a transportation unit.

Sorry I am a homeschoole at heart.
I am always thinking of ways to add
 a learning aspect to everything:)

Have a Fantastic Day Lovelies!

The Ever Fabulous Mr. D and Me

Hello Lovelies! Happy Saturday! Did you guys notice I gained a new sponsor this month? Yep the ever fabulous Brielle won a month of free advertising on B and D last month. I asked her to inroduce herself and her ever cute blog to all you lovelies. So lets meet Brielle. Seirously the cutest gal ever! For realz folkz!

Blog Meet B and D
----------------------------------------

mr. d & me

Well hey there, good lookin'! my name is brielle and i hang out in a corner of the blogosphere commonly referred to as mr. d and me. it's a jolly good blog about marriagethe crazy college lifepinterest finds, and of course, my awesome husband, mister d and our life together so far.  he is an engineering intern at a local firm, and i spend my days doing mindless secretarial work from home.  we both rock at being students aka we stay up too late and do our homework last minute.
even though we {mostly he} work hard, we play hard too.  we have been married a grand total of 8.37 months, and have already had a plethora of adventures together. like that one time our apartment building caught on fire after just a week of being married, or when he became a man again, not to mention our recent awesome vacation to the blessed land of disney.  life's a party, yo.
so basically, i am married to the goofiest person i've ever known. do you wanna hear the story of how we met? of course you do. it was a night long, long ago on march 11th, 2011.  my best friend and i had our plans fall through for the evening, so we decided we should just go to this color-dance going on at our university's lds institute.  the party was a bust. we got there and it was a bunch of socially awkward freshmen who thought church dances were the event of the season.  at one point during the lamefest, i caught the eye of a boy in a backward baseball cap across the room, and he winked at me.  i instantly thought, "who does this kid think he is, winking like that? what a goob."   well, on our way out of the dance, we saw this goob and his friends in the parking lot.  i instantly recognized him, of course, and set out to try and disprove my previous assumptions.  within the first two minutes of conversation, i just knew this kid was the complete opposite of a goob and would be someone very important in my life. "how do i subtly ask for this kid's number???" was repeating over and over in my mind.  we were right in the middle of chatting about hometowns and first dates when he just jumped on the back of a moving car and rode away. what? who even does that?  all i could do is laugh, but the thing is he never came back. now how was i supposed to get his number and date him and force him to marry me? all hope was lost.  luckily for me, my best friend is a babe and got his best friend's number.  two weeks later we were double dating at nickel city, which led to seeing each other every night, which of course, led to falling in love.  we were engaged five months later and the rest, my friends, is history. all because of a wink and a smile across a crowded dance floor. did i mention i looked like this that night?
yep, my hair is indeed purple. i was also wearing tie-dye booty shorts and pink tights with knee socks. who wouldn't wanna wink at that? (: well, now you know pretty much every detail of our little lives, you should stop by and pay the blog a visit! i can promise you slightly good jokes, pretty pictures, and a whole lot of love!

(: xo, b.

My Blissful Home With Pamela

Photobucket

Welcome to My Blissful Home! A new series featuring homes from around the blogging community. These crafty bloggers are going to show us how they decorate their thrifty, crafty homes. Today we have Pamela, taking us on a tour of how she has made her home a Blissful one.

Let the Tour Begin....

 ------------------------------

Hi there...my name is Pamela and I blog at It's Me Again, Pamela. I actually have 2 blogs - the other one is Sew Much Class and Crafty, Too .  I live in Houston, Texas.
I appreciate Danielle giving me the opportunity to share my home with you.
Welcome to my cozy little home. We have lived here 13 years and it was built in 1987. It is 1600 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths - but I will only show you a few of my fav rooms. We have totally repainted the interior - one room was actually lime green and black when we bought it!

The Kitchen - I LOVE my red sink!

The table and chairs were all white with butcher block and I mod podged the table top with black and white scrapbook paper and love how it turned out. I then painted 2 of the chairs black to mix it up a little. I am thinking seriously about painting the cabinets white - we put new tile down when we moved in as well as the counter tops - but now I want to change it again - I would love a lighter floor but darker counter tops. We bought new appliances about 3 years ago, so the kitchen has pretty much been totally updated since we bought it.

The Living Room - (I should have turned the light off)
I really like all the open space and the ledges above - you can see I really like bottles and vases.

Master Bedroom - I love the yellow accent wall. As you can see black and red are my colors. My little Miley managed to get in most of the pics.

That is my "Coach Tree" in the corner that my Bradley made for me. It is perfect for all of my handbags. (there are a few Vera Bradleys hangin' as well)

Master Bath - I completely redid the bathroom myself, which I would never do again -  it was so hard to paint and texture. Next time - I will hire someone! I made the valance and vanity stool cover. Before it was all pink and brown - and was so busy looking - now it looks fresh and clean and I think just a little bit classy.

The grand finale - my sewing/craft room! This used to be our sun room and last year we completely redid it and now I love it! This is where I relax, think, create and just have fun!

I hope you enjoyed a look into a bit of my home.
-----------------------
Thanks so much lady! I love that kitchen sink. The red is fabulous. Isn't her house just great. Stop by and say hi and share some comment love with Pamela today.

Rocket Toss With Motivated Mommy of Two

Hello Lovelies! It is Wednesday and I have a fabulous guest post for you today. It is Shirley, of Motivated Mommy of Two. She is one of my fabulous Co-hosts from the Summer Fun Linky Party. She pretty rocks! So lets meet her and get to know this fabulous Mama.

Blog Meet Shirley
--------------------------------

Hello everyone, I am really excited to be guest posting for Danielle today. I have been following Danielle’s blog for a couple of months now. I really enjoy all of the information that she provides. And love linking up to her fun parties
Danielle and I are also co-hosting together along with 14 other bloggers the Summer Fun Party!
My name is Shirley and I blog at Motivated Mommy of Two. I am a mom to the two most wonderful kids and a wife to the most loving and understanding husband.
I love to write about what motivates me to keep going with my weight loss journey, the awesome times I spend with my family. And of course all of the different projects I like to work around the house.
Keeping up with the summer theme, today I wanted to share with you a fun game I put together for my kids. Since we live in the desert I needed to find ways to keep them entertained inside during the summer months.
I get a family magazine called Family Fun, in there they had a game called Rocket Toss.

For the materials you need:
  • Six Recycled metal cans
  • You can use paint (white, blue and or red) or strips of red, white, and blue duct tape. I choose to use blue and white paint.
Instructions:
  • Once you have saved all of the of six metal cans, wash them and make sure you do not have any sharp edges.
  • Paint the cans or decorate them with the duct tape. I decided to paint mine since I had blue and white paint.
  • Once they are painted and dried it is play time.
  • I used a regular rubber ball for the kids to use to knock down the cans. They had a blast and Mommy was happy to keep them busy inside the house away from the heat.
I hope you enjoyed this fun summer post, hope to see you guys at Motivated Mommy of Two.
