This past week I was browsing Pinterest, looking for some fun hands on activities for my littles, when I came across the Housing a Forest Blog. Once I saw Tammy's Volcano Eggs experiment, I knew it was something I just HAD to do with my littles. I hard boiled some eggs, grabbed the items we would need, and got to work. We painted our eggs and then dropped them in the vinegar. The reaction between the baking soda and vinegar is one my kids never tire of. This was a fun alternative to typical egg dying. I had everything in my pantry for this experiment and my littles couldn't get enough. We used this activity for science and I had them each draw a picture of our experiment. I also had them answer a few questions like What happened when you dropped the egg into the vinegar? and Why did the baking soda and vinegar react that way? So whether you are using this as a teaching moment for your kids or as a fun family activity, you will not be disappointed with volcano eggs.
XO Danielle
