These are seriously good! Like the whole family eats them, loves them, and no one complains. It is a glorious day when you make dinner and no one utters a complaint. It is all smiles and thank yous, where these Joe's are concerned. I live for those days! So here we go...simple Sloppy Joe's....a little on the messy side and heavily on the yummy side! Oh and ready to eat in under 20 minutes! Woot! Woot!
1 lb. ground turkey (seasoned with Lawry's and onions with cooking)
1/3 cup chopped celery
1 can of tomato sauce (15 oz)
2 tbl apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
3 tbl brown sugar
1 tsp red pepper flakes
4-6 homemade buns (go homemade your family will smile even more)
Brown your ground turkey in a large skillet. I brown mine with seasoning salt, onions (usually 1/4 cup), and chopped celery. Cook until your meat is cooked through. Drain off any excess grease. Continue to heat. Next, add tomato sauce, vinegar, mustard, pepper flakes, and brown sugar. Mix well. Allow to simmer for about 8- 10 minutes.
Serve on homemade rolls with cut up fruit.
Oh and of course enjoy!
XO Danielle
P.S.
We served these with homemade potato chips
