Fall Porch Makeover with Amy

Hi y'all! I'm Amy from The Little Farm Diary, and I'm so excited to be here today on Blissful and Domestic! Danielle has graciously allowed me to visit and write a guest post for her again. I've been so excited to share our " Fall Porch Makeover" with y'all and I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun it has been to create a porch that is a welcome fall retreat.

Since we have a small house, our front porch is an outside room that we enjoy almost year round. It's where I have my morning coffee, it's where my husband and I cuddle in the evenings, and it's where I greet my guests. I was going for swoon worthy y'all served with a side order of colorful and fun. What do you think? Did I get it sorta right?

I wanted our fall porch to be filled with light because fall's shorter days can really weigh heavy on me. So I searched for porch inspirations and found lots of elements that I wanted to combine on our porch so it would be a great day retreat, but also a usable space on those dark fall evenings.

I'm just thrilled with the end result- it's colorful, inviting and it really brightens up a dark evening. I always use lots of natural elements when decorating and I really wanted to use plenty of bittersweet this fall. It's such an easy way to add some fall color around the house. For adding lights I needed a vine on the porch. I purchased some inexpensive grapevine wreaths and unwound them, and voila, vines on the porch. That allowed me to string some lights on the vine to really brighten it up in the evening. A few pumpkins here and there, and I called it a day. 'Good enough' is perfection around here!

Thank you Danielle for the opportunity to share our front porch with you and your readers! This project brought me so much joy to create- now to go brew some coffee and enjoy this fall porch!

Oh my heck Amy! It is amazing! I love all the cozy touches! Thank you so much for sharing! Don't forget to check out Amy on her blog!

  1. It's really lovely! I didn't appreciate my fall porch when I had one, and now I have a door that is just plopped in the side of my house - no overhang, just a plain sidewalk that leads to it, and it's so hard to decorate! You've done a beautiful job!!!! Have a wonderful fall!
