DIY Christmas Cards

DIY Christmas Cards

Hey y'all! Christmas prep is in full gear at my house. The house is decorated, the cookies are being made, and the tree is up in all its glory! I love a decorated tree! I can not stop staring at it! I am basically creeping on my own Christmas tree. Hahaha!  Anyone else stop in their tracks when a Christmas tree is around? I don't know what it is, but man all those twinkling lights cause me to stop and smile. It reminds me of being a kid and sitting in the family room, next to the tree, with my Mom. It was always a favorite time of mine. We use to have obnoxious bells that hung on the tree. They were sound activated and would start to sing "jingle bells" if you talked to loudly. My dad thought it was awesome...(I say sarcastically)....well actually he hated it, but my brother and I thought it was awesome to make them go off and make my dad's face turn a lovely shade of red.....I think my Dad did his own happy dance when those bells finally stopped working....but I am going off on a tangent here......Now that we are in full Christmas mode, I knew it was time to get geared up for the always lovely Family Christmas Cards. Some years I am sending them out with only a few days left till Christmas. This year though I had them in the mailbox by the first week. I am giving myself a big ole' pat on the back for that one. I am never this ahead of the game. I think this is my year people, when it comes to holiday planning. Hopefully this trend continues throughout the month:)

This year I teamed up with to show you how simple it is do make your own DIY Holiday Cards at home. Today I'll show how I designed, ordered, and got my cards out to our sweet family. The first thing I had to do was get an updated picture of those kids of mine. I got the littles together and snapped a few photos in our front yard. This was the hardest part of the whole card making process. Getting two kids to both stand next to each other, without stink-facing it or pinching each other is a challenge enough. I think I bribed them with chocolate in a desperate plea to save me a bit of sanity. After a bit of coaxing, some candy, and about 15 minutes I had a sweet picture of my red heads.

Next I hopped onto This is one of my favorite photo editing sites. I use this site to edit photos and create graphics for the blog. I edited my picture and created a 4x6 holiday card.

I loved the ease of using Signazon and am happy that this year I was able to get ahead of the game with sending out holiday cards. I also loved that you can have beautiful homemade cards, without the crazy price. Have you sent out your holiday cards yet?
