Tonight Hubby was in charge of FHE. FHE is Family Home Evening to us. It is a time when we are able to unplug and come together as a family to learn more about our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. We like to take turns, rotating from youngest to oldest. Each week a new person is in charge of the lesson and game selection. Every Monday night from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm you will find us sharing a meal, a simple lesson, and playing some sort of game. We are board game people and absolutely love Mondays when we get to pull out a favorite game and fight for the win....we're a bit competitive too :)

Tonight we shared a yummy zucchini bake, a delicious dessert, and played Blokus. Have you played that game before? It is a fun one. We got it from Amazon a few years back. It is for four players and has become a favorite of the kids.

We share a lot of laughs, a bit of trash talking (don't all families trash talk when playing games?), and a lot of conversation. It is one of our favorite times of the week.

I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for the gift we have to stop everything and come together. I know it is a precious time that Heavenly Father wants us all to have with our family. I pray we can all carve a bit of time out of our day, each week to be together as a family. Have fun with one another and remember it doesn't have to cost a dime. You can have fun just hanging out at home :)

What are you guys doing for family night this week?

  2. Great idea! We need to plan ahead better for these. We're usually so exhausted by Friday that we poop out and miss the opportunity for family bonding. How do you maintain your energy for the weekend?

  3. I love this! We've tried to no avail to have a family game night but it always falls to the wayside. Y'all look like you're having so much fun!
