Poured it all out...

Today was one of those long days...like bedtime comes around and you find yourself sending up a silent prayer, thanking Jesus because you honestly feel like you have nothing left in the tank. That was how today was. We didn't necessarily have a lot going on, but our day was just full. We've been gearing up for summer vacation, so we've been getting us all settled into the house and getting things ready for a week long vacation back in Vegas. We are counting down the days. I can't wait to love on my sweet nieces and nephews and see my Mama and Dad. It's been far too long.

Our day though was full of those everyday things...you know preparing meals, and rotating laundry, and trying to get that sweet blonde haired baby down for a nap (which never happened this day I might add). We also spent a good while at the park. We slid down slides, jumped off swings, and had a rousing game of HORSE, followed by Around the world. Libby won both games and now is feeling pretty cocky about the whole thing. :)

At the end of the day though, once the kids were in bed and all was quite, I hopped in the shower and sent up another silent prayer. Not one praising the Lord for getting me through this day, but one thanking Him for giving me this day. I was blessed to be able to pour all I had into my sweet family. It's hard sometimes being a Mom and sometimes it can be absolutely exhausting, both physically and mentally. We've all been there right? But being a mother is a sacred role. One where you are working directly with the Lord to further His plan. How cool is that? I was reminded of this as I got myself ready for bed tonight. I'm so thankful for this season and for these three munchkins I got to hang out with today. They're my favorite :)

Now I'm signing off because I have a feeling that the moment my head hits the pillow, a certain blonde hair baby will want to eat and you know what? I'm ok with that. It's kind of my favorite time :)

XO Danielle

  1. This is such a great perspective! I'm going to try to think more in this manner, too--especially when I get overwhelmed or the kids are really driving me nuts! :)
